Laboratory Assessment of the Elemental Composition of Dental Implant Surfaces Based on X-Ray Spectral Analysis with Mapping

Dental implantation is a current solution of dental surgery problem related to alveolar bone defects occurring after tooth extraction. The effectiveness of dental implant integration is the full osseointegration within the jawbone provides by the cleanliness of the implant surface. The research purpose of the study was a comparative laboratory assessment of the elemental chemical composition of the dental implants surface using X-ray spectral analysis in order to improve the efficiency of osseointegration. Materials and Methods. The chemical composition of the dental implants surface was studied using X-ray spectral analysis. Results and Discussion. The results obtained through high-tech methods allow substantiating the advantage of a dental implant without contamination surface areas in terms of its biocompatibility and long-term stability.
