This article describes a case of managing a patient with a diffuse form of lung adenocarcinoma. The peculiarity of this case is that initially the patient was diagnosed with community-acquired pneumonia and appropriate therapy was prescribed. However, during the treatment, there was a decrease in some objective criteria and an uncharacteristic picture according to radiation diagnostic methods, despite relatively "calm" laboratory parameters. This situation highlights the complexity of differential diagnosis, especially in conditions of overlapping clinical manifestations. The clinical article discusses changes in CT scans, the results of a pathological and anatomical study, and the importance of an interdisciplinary approach in the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory diseases. The above case illustrates the need to raise the awareness of medical professionals about possible diagnostic pitfalls and to form a system of constant cancer awareness.
